I will share with you what we have tried and liked.   Some are applicable to diet, some are practical tips.  Remember that because you don't like something at first, give it another chance before you give up on it.

Cooking:
Instead of pasta, if your sauce is good, you can use cauliflower.  It takes some getting used to, but it works.
Quickly cook your spinach or vegetables in olive oil.
Use tortilla's instead of bread for things like an egg & cheese sandwich.

Restaurants:
I have never been to a restaurant where I could not find a low carbohydrate choice on the menu or sometimes I'll ask.   They will usually come up with something.
What is amazing is that I can order any sandwich on the menu and not eat the bread and stay on my diet.  The fat is loaded onto the bread as well.  It's a win-win.
A salad with shrimp or grilled chicken or just egg is always good.   Watch out for the bacon (chemicals) and/or croutons (carbohydrates).

Diet:
Don't ever have a drink (of alcohol) before you eat.  It will make you hungrier and you will eat more and worry less - which is probably your reason for drinking.   But in this case, it's good to think clearly.

Always leave something on your plate.  It will make you feel better about yourself and will make you stronger and soon you will stop eating when you stop being hungry.

It is absolutely critical for fast eaters (like me) to slow down so that you can feel when you are getting full.

Eat soup twice a week.   That way you fill up with more liquid than calories.  Be sure to include protein so you won't be hungry right away.

Exercise:
Do it with someone!   Exercise with your dog - walking, wrestling.   Your child can do these - even the youngest toddler can follow along.  Invite your neighbor over to do them with you.   If you can get your husband to do them with you, you're a better woman than me :_
You'll hear me talk about my dog - this is Gracie.   She has learned to be my exercise partner - she helps me even when she just looks at me like I'm crazy.
